How the format works
Rotating Groups + Knockout
1. Register individually
Players enter on their own. There are no fixed teams for the tournament.
2. Rotate through the pool
The schedule changes partners and opponents so every possible partner pairing in the pool plays once.
3. Qualify as a player
The top four players from each group advance. Rankings use points per game, then win rate, then point difference per game.
4. Redraw the knockout teams
Knockout pairings are built from the group qualifiers. After the semifinals, the four players on the winning teams are randomized again into two new pairs for the final.
Match count depends on the pool size. For a pool with n players, pool matches = cycle count × n × (n - 1) / 4. The reason is: n × (n - 1) / 2 counts every possible partner pair, and each doubles match uses 2 partner pairs, so you divide by 2 again. The cycle count then multiplies the whole total when the pool is repeated. That is why one large pool creates more pool matches than several smaller groups. The knockout adds one fewer match than the number of qualifying teams.

When players have unequal pool games, standings are normalized by points per game, then win rate, then point difference per game.
